Knife Combatives

This is a 2 day course on Edged Weapon Awareness and Survivability.  $150 Real knife attacks are nothing like those shown in movies or displayed in many of todays gyms. Knife attacks are vicious, violent and deadly. Too many gyms teach to stay in the fight and perform fine intricate and fancy techniques, but that is suicidal, especially if the attacker or attackers are skilled. Our main focus is to escape and keep distance and if escape is not possible, how to to close in and shut down/destroy our attacker. Knives are everywhere. They are inexpensive, easy to conceal, silent and very deadly, especially in the hands of a determined attacker. The human body is extremely fragile and soft and a knife can render it useless in very little time. The average attacker can slash and stab 8-12 times in as little as two seconds. Damage to veins and arteries causes the human body to shut down due to loss of blood pressure in as little as 6 seconds, and damage to muscles and ligaments causes immediate incapacitation to the part of the body that was targeted and damaged. When faced with someone with a knife, or possible knife, you do not have time for fancy techniques that are practiced so religiously in today’s gyms.  You must control and destroy your attacker. Sorry, no flashy disarms or Hollywood ninja techniques are taught during this two day course. We teach what works, and we explain and attempt to ingrain the fact that what you see on tv and in the vast majority of Martial Art gyms is useless on the streets and will get you killed. Here is a simple video of our basic two day Knife Combatives Course Our Two Day, Knife Combatives course is held on two consecutive Sundays. This time allows for better scheduling as well as allows students the time to rest and recover between the two days of training as this course is demanding. This course is designed to expose students to the realities and dangers of real edged weapon attacks and teaches basic tactics that can help the student survive an edged weapon attack. We do not encourage fighting with an attacker wielding an edged weapon unless it is absolutely necessary. If escape is not an immediate option and we must engage, we teach to shut down the attacker long enough to escape to a secure place,  escape and access a personal weapon or a weapon of opportunity if available or to destroy our attacker should escape not be an option. This course is perfect for armed citizens, Law Enforcement agencies, Executive Protection providers, Security Contractors and other armed professionals. Those who successfully complete this course will have attained the knowledge and skills of: Situational awareness Edged weapon lethality Avoidance and keeping distance How to handle a committed attacker possessing an edged weapon Execute compounded violent attacks Handling multiple attackers   Topic Overview First Saturday, Day One:  10am-6pm.   Day 1 is designed to give you the tools to help build a strong edged weapons knowledge base. Training concentrates on situational awareness including pre-incident indicators and focuses on 'static' type of knife attacks and ground fighting. Reality based scenarios are utilized and are designed to heighten ones awareness to the lethality of an edged weapon encounter as well as to ingrain effective distancing, controlling of the blade and survivability. Those who successfully complete day 1 will have attained the knowledge and skill of: Understanding of the lethality of Edged Weapons. Understanding the various ways violent criminals carry and attack with edged weapons. How to gain distance in order to escape, access personal weapons or to access weapons of   opportunity. Possess the basic skills to neutralize an attacker who's employing a motionless edged weapon. Possess the basic skills to neutralize an edged weapon attacker while being attacked on the ground. Understanding the basic skills needed to deal with and neutralizing multiple attackers. Second Saturday, Day two: 10am-6pm. Day 2 is 'intermediate training' and is designed to enhance the skills that were developed in the 1st day and progressively build advancing those skills as students are faced with hacking, slashing and stabbing type of attacks including multiple attackers and extreme close range fighting. Stress inoculation, survivability building, cohesion drills, coordination drills and reality based scenarios play a big part in this high impact and demanding day. Those who successfully complete day 2 will have attained the knowledge and skill of: Understand and recognize the dangers of the 21 foot rule as it pertains to edged weapons. Understand the five basic angles of edged weapon attacks. Possess the skills needed to limb capture and neutralize an attacker who is aggressively attacking with slashing, hacking and stabbing type of attacks. Know how to gain distance in order to access personal weapons or weapons of opportunity. Intermediate skills dealing with extreme close range in-fighting. Intermediate skills dealing with and neutralizing multiple attackers. At completion of this course, students will possess the skills needed to help keep them alive and get them home should they ever be attacked by an aggressive attacker. This is not a course in fancy, complex motor skills or flashy Hollywood moves designed to dazzle students or an audience. This course is about awareness and survivability. _____________________________ We make training as realistic as possible and to help with this realistic training, we incorporate two invaluable training tools:  No Lie Blade training knives and Shock Knives. THIS IS A DEMANDING AND PHYSICAL  COURSE. Students must be in good physical health to attend our training. People with known injuries that might prevent them from this type of training should consult their doctor first.  There is a good chance that you will sweat and you will be sore during and after this training course. NO LIE BLADE TRAINING KNIVES.  Using No Lie Blade training knives during training gets the student as close to an actual knife encounter as one can get without the real danger of getting cut and there is no pain involved. These training knives have felt on their edges and then coated with red lipstick or a red paint so students will see immediately where they were cut or stabbed and how many times they failed to control the blade. These training knives are used heavily by the armed forces in both military and law enforcement as well as Israeli martial arts and self defense classes. The training knives provide so much crucial and immediate information that any person, team or organization who is serious about bettering their skills cannot deny the need for such a tool. No Lie Blades is a GSA vendor.  Tools and training are available to DoD, Federal, State and a Local Municipality customers through the General Services Administration (GSA) contract, Schedule 84 - Total Solutions for Law Enforcement, Security, Facilities Management, Fire, Rescue, Clothing, Marine Craft and Emergency/Disaster Response. NOTE:  I am a 2nd level No Lie Blades Instructor helping to train Knife Combatives to Special Military units, Law Enforcement, HRT, SWAT and other specialized units.  For more information about these training knives, please visit their website and tell Hank that Ron sent you.   Contact us with questions.  Back to our Training Courses
