Knife Combatives

Knives are everywhere. They are inexpensive, easy to conceal, silent and very deadly, especially in the hands of a determined attacker. The human body is extremely fragile and soft and a knife can render it useless in very little time. The average attacker can slash and stab 8-12 times in as little as two seconds.  Damage to veins and arteries causes the human body to shut down due to loss of blood pressure in as little as 6 seconds, and damage to muscles and ligaments causes immediate incapacitation to the part of the body that was targeted and damaged. When faced with someone with a knife, or possible knife, you do not have time for fancy techniques that are practiced so religiously in today’s gyms.  You must control and destroy your attacker. Sorry, no flashy disarms or Hollywood ninja techniques are taught during this two day course. We teach what works, and we explain and attempt to ingrain the fact that what you see on tv and in the vast majority of Martial Art gyms is useless on the streets and will get you killed. Students will learn both Defensive as well as Offensive skills during this training.   Here is a simple video of our basic two day Knife Combatives Course, November 12/13.. Our Knife Combatives courses are designed to expose students to the realities and dangers of real edged weapon attacks and teaches basic tactics that can help the student survive an edged weapon attack. We do not encourage fighting with an attacker wielding an edged weapon unless it is absolutely necessary. If escape is not an immediate option and we must engage, we teach to shut down the attacker long enough to escape to a secure place,  escape and access a personal weapon or a weapon of opportunity if available or to destroy our attacker should escape not be an option. One Day Knife Combatives Course: $100 Saturday:  10am-6pm Situational awareness including pre-incident indicators. Types of knifes, grips and their importance Making and keeping distance Basics of stance and movements Striking , Controlling and shutting down the attacker targeting 'High Value Targets' Defense against the most common static knife attacks (knife to throat and belly) Mindset Making and keeping distance Defense against the most common Slashing, Hacking and Stabbing types of attacks.                                     ____________________________ Two Day Knife Combatives Course:$150 Saturday, Day One:  10am-6pm.   Day 1 has two main focuses. Basic Ground fighting Mindset Sunday, Day Two:  10am-6pm (day one is required before you can attend day two)  Day 2 is designed to enhance the skills that were developed on day one and progressively builds on those skills. Day 2 reinforces the need for understanding pre- incident indicators, distancing and knowing your immediate surroundings. Stress inoculation, survivability building, cohesion drills and fighting in close quarters play a big part in this high impact training day.  Review of Day One Angles and combination of attacks and Target selection Making and keeping distance Defense against Slashing, Hacking and Stabbing types of attacks Multiple attackers Dealing with fear and it’s negative effects Knife fighting basics (Griping, deploying and opening a folder.   Grip switching and keeping the blade.  Attacking ‘Going through your attacker’  (NOTHING FLASHY.  Just survival.) _____________________________ We make training as realistic as possible and to help with this realistic training, we incorporate two invaluable training tools:  No Lie Blade training knives and Shock Knives. When students train with only rubber, foam and wooden knives, the student can never really know if their moves and techniques will be effective in a real fight. We pressure test our techniques and these two training tools help us do just that. THESE ARE VERY DEMANDING AND PHYSICAL  COURSES. Students must be in good physical health to attend our training. People with known injuries that might prevent them from this type of training should consult their doctor first.  There is a good chance that you will sweat and you will be sore during and after this training course and like any sport activity, there is a chance of a bruise or other injury. Our training courses are very  similar to military type training. NO LIE BLADE TRAINING KNIVES.  Using No Lie Blade training knives during training gets the student as close to an actual knife encounter as one can get without the real danger of getting cut. These training knives have felt on their edges and are either dipped/coated with red lipstick or a red paint so students will see immediately where they were cut or stabbed and how many times they failed to control the blade. These training knives are used heavily by the armed forces in both military and law enforcement as well as Israeli martial arts and self defense classes. The training knives provide so much crucial and immediate information that any person, team or organization who is serious about bettering their skills cannot deny the need for such a tool. No Lie Blades is a GSA vendor.  Tools and training are available to DoD, Federal, State and a Local Municipality customers through the General Services Administration (GSA) contract, Schedule 84 - Total Solutions for Law Enforcement, Security, Facilities Management, Fire, Rescue, Clothing, Marine Craft and Emergency/Disaster Response. I am a 2nd level No Lie Blades Instructor helping to train Knife Combatives to Special Military units, Law Enforcement, HRT, SWAT and other specialized units.  For more information about these training knives, please visit their website and tell Hank that Ron sent you.    Click Here to be redirected to the No Lie Blades Web Site.
