Reality Based Tactical Handgun

Whether you carry a handgun or keep one at home for personal protection, one of the most ignored and neglected responsibilities of owning a firearm is LEARNING HOW TO USE IT.  This is basic one day, 6 hour course of instruction teaching students the basics of operating a handgun inside a building as well as how to deploy and engage threats from concealment.  RAP4 Glock 19 Training handguns are used during this course. These training firearms feel and act like the real ones and they can not fire real bullets so training is safe. Instead, they fire  .43 caliber rubber balls at 250 - 300 feet per second. This course introduces students to the basics of movement, barricades, structural searching, securing and the stresses of using a firearm under pressure. Students will learn first how to tactically and effectively move about inside a building as they search out, assess and if needed, engage targets. Not all targets will be threats so students will have to assess each target before they make the decision to engage it.   There are no real guns used during this training. This course will also teach students the basics on how to stop an attacker from killing you using nothing more than bare hands and make space so a handgun can be drawn and the threat engaged.   Face it, handguns are a fantastic tool but you must have the time and the space to deploy your handgun and engage the threat and this course helps teach that essential step of survival.  Student will learn how to draw and deploy their handguns from concealment under extreme duress as they are being attacked by other students simulating real life scenarios and attacks.  Attacks including strikes, baseball bats, knives and multiple attackers.    Yes, students will actually draw their training handguns out from concealment and engage other students with our training handguns. We call this ‘Force on Force’.   Force on Force is Reality Based training where students wear protective equipment including face masks, gloves, hoodie or coat and role plays with other students as they act out realistic, possible life threatening scenarios.   If and when the student feels that their life has been threatened, they will have to engage other students in an actual gun fight using our training handguns. Each student will have different roles to play (good guy vs bad guy). If and when the good guy feels threatened, he/she will have to make the decision to engage the attacker with lethal force. At this time, he/she will draw their training firearm and engage the attacker in a gunfight using our training guns.  Scenarios will vary including; home invasions, hostage taking, knife attacks as well as robberies which may or may not result in possible assaults. The last hour of the day is spent in low and no light conditions.  Federal statistics tell us that over 80 percent of shooting occur in low light or no light conditions.  However, with this being fact, it is amazing how many people do not and have never practiced shooting in the dark. Many of these same people watch too much TV and believe that shooting in the dark is easy and that practicing shooting in the dark is the same as shooting with the lights on.    They can not be more wrong, especially when there is someone hiding in the dark and wants to hurt you or worse, KILL YOU. Students will learn to search and secure a structure with little, if any light.  This becomes a real challenge as students realize that the dark is not their friend and that their  mega million candlepower flash light that is suppose to blind the bad guy long enough so they can accurately place a shot is an extremely dangerous piece of equipment as it tells the bad guy exactly where they are. You will learn to respect the dark and take nothing in the dark for granted. *You must have some firearm knowledge in order  to take this course including firearm safety and safe handling of firearms !! $125 NO AMMUNITION OR EQUIPMENT TO BUY Limited to Four Students **Private courses can be scheduled.  Contact us with questions
